Take:

   p, table { border: solid; }
   img { float: left; }

   <p> <img ...> ... </p>
   <table> ... </table>

Most authors seem to want:

    +--------------------+
    | +---+ ...          |
    +-|   |--------------+
      |   | +---------+
      |   | |         |
      +---+ |         |
            |         |

...rather than:

    +--------------------+
    | +---+ ...          |
    +-|   |--------------+
      |   |
      |   |
      +---+
    +---------+
    |         |
    |         |

In any case, if they want the latter, they can always get it by setting
clear:left on the table.
