Re: Are we dropping the glossary? (Re: ACTION-96 Draft initial outline of glossary)

Thomas,

I have been a victim of too many "day job" responsibilities of late and
thus this has dropped down on the stack for me.

What I had intended on doing is combing the FPWD for relevant terms and
then filling in definitions either from the FPWD or from other sources
(like the mailing list). Unfortunately, the last time I combed the
document was a couple of revisions ago.

I have enough time today to at least write down the first set of terms I
was thinking of - perhaps this will get everyone else thinking about the
topic we can fill in definitions as appropriate.

Here's the list I came up with:

Glossary of terms:

attack
best practice
browser
chrome
client
dialog boxes
exploits (user agent)
hyperlinks
Imposter
Favicon
Padlock icon
Reputation service
Security information
User agent
User separation
Victim web site
Web protocols

I am sure there are many more terms that should be added to this list

If this is what others were thinking such a glossary of terms would
include, then I will continue working to fill in definitions (or
references to where such definitions already exist).

Tim Hahn

My sense is that this wasn't just about the chrome discussion, but
about jump-starting a glossary overall; I had understood earlier
that Tim had agreed to drive that.

If dropping this action item means we're dropping the glossary, then
that's something that I'd like to see taken up on a call.
