webtv-ISSUE-22 (MattH): Lip-sync Accuracy Time Synchronisation [HOME_NETWORK_TF] http://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/track/issues/22 Raised by: Matt Hammond On product: HOME_NETWORK_TF Scenario: A companion device plays, through headphones, alternative audio time-synchronised to a programme the user is watching on the television. Synchronisation required may be "lip-sync" in accuracy. The alternative audio is delivered to the companion device independently of the television device - such as via streaming from the broadcaster's servers. The application can query the playback progress of the media being played on the television with frame resolution, compensating for network delays
