+1, but perhaps we make a note of it in the definition, "wasGeneratedBy([],e) is not a meaningful assertion"

But you'd need to name the Generation, so you'd be at wasGeneratedBy(gen, e) and no longer in the case  wasGeneratedBy([], e)
