We’ve been discussing TBX/RDF topic with Philipp for a while already, not directly in the public group though.

About TBX resources: we are waiting for our partners’ response in the TaaS project from the Cologne University of Applied Sciences as their students might have demo terminology collections, also there is a Microsoft service that allows for downloading their terminology in TBX: http://www.microsoft..com/Language/en-US/Terminology.aspx. Please check the licence. One more choice – from July 1 I will have an assistant who will prepare a demo TaaS collection for purposes like this when one needs an example terminology collection. So, hold on, Philipp :)

About TBX/RDF question: I’d be happy to know what ISO thinks about this. On the practical level, this is great that the LIDER project has brought the TaaS project into the discussion including use cases and the practical implementation. However, we call for all interested parties, including standardisation bodies. So, welcome, Alan :)

see http://www.ttt.org/oscarstandards/tbx/ and download the link called “TBX Resources”. Although not all of the files included in that download will be useful, at least two of them should be useful:

fromSDL_tbx.tbx
medtronic_TBX.tbx

Although I know the intent was for these files to be open examples, I’m not actually sure on the license details, however, as the file does not indicate license. Perhaps Alan Melby can clarify this. If the original terms of donation were sufficiently open and LTAC (which controls the files) can legally make a CC assignment, then I could assist Alan in preparing a version with the appropriate embedded license details.

Alternatively, if you could use a Hungarian-English example, I could prepare one with musicological terms for you (around 20 or 30 total term entries) where I could make the legal rights assignment myself (as it would be my own work) and I would be happy to donate it. It would probably be next week before I could have it ready, but I would be happy to do it. I would provide it as a TBX Basic file.

Other than that, I am desperately trying to get access to some open TBX documents that we can use for incremental refinement and make sure that we really cover most of the cases that appear in real world usage examples of TBX.. We would also use them as examples by including them in our codebase so that people can right away see how the converter works.

So ideally, the TBX documents we are looking for would be available under a CC license so that they can be redistributed (by attribution of course). This would allow us to include them in the codebase.

So please, if anyone has access to open TBX documents please let me know.
