No, it is not good. We need it for CSS Shapes 2 and CSS Masking (clip-path). This is the only possible way to specify the winding rule. Furthermore, polygon() does have winding rule too. So what ever the issue with path() and winding rule is, it applies to polygon() already which is implemented in at least 2 browsers and actively used.
