A lot has happened in the last few months and we are happy to bring you up to date in our current newsletter edition. In this issue you will learn more about the Easy Reading Handbook, the Bologna Declaration, the AAATE Conference 2019 and how we will continue with our user tests.


** The Easy Reading Handbook

The Easy Reading Handbook was written for researchers, developers and peer researchers. The handbook explains easily and comprehensibly how to do joint research with people with cognitive disabilities (peer researchers). Readers can learn more about peer research, how to become a peer researcher and how to conduct joint research. The handbook was developed together with our peer researchers.

** Easy Reading project partners endorse the Bologna Declaration

The Bologna Declaration consists of 10 important actions aimed to improve the accessibility of high quality assistive technologies for all people. Everyone, whether developers, researchers or users, can contribute to better accessibility. You can find out how we can achieve greater accessibility together on the AAATE website.

** Easy Reading at the AAATE Conference 2019
------------------------------------------------------------

This year, the Easy Reading project conducted two workshops at AAATE Conference 2019 in Bologna. In the workshops, not only the individual project partners from the Easy Reading project presented their results, but also other EU research projects reported on their experiences on how users can be involved in development processes.

** Start of the Easy Reading User Tests
------------------------------------------------------------

In our user tests, the Easy Reading software is tested by people with cognitive disabilities. The tests are carried out by our peer researchers. They support the testers in evaluating the software in terms of its user-friendliness and suitability for everyday use.
We are looking forward to the results and will keep you updated on our website.
