ISSUE-2063 (save state): Consider adding API for saving and restoring SVG state [SVG Core 2.0] http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/WG/track/issues/2063 Raised by: Doug Schepers On product: SVG Core 2.0 It's often desirable for users to be able to save the current state of a dynamic or animated SVG, particularly for Web apps. Postscript included some basic functions like this: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/ps/sdk/TN5607.Clipsave.pdf We should look at something more advanced (but still simple), including saving the current document state but without the script, or saving the results that include user input (drag-n-drop, editable text).
