Legal status of W3C standards and its use by government

State:
CLOSED
Product:
Group Note 1 -- General
Raised by:
Trond Arne Undheim
Opened on:
2009-03-30
Description:
although draft says W3C standards enjoy broad use and have been named in laws and regulations, there are regions where they don't still have the legal status of an standard to be used by government, namely EU, so this should be better stated in the doc and also backed up with a couple pointers
