Adjustable Background and Contrast
From Digital Publishing Interest Group
Text Alignment
- Use case
- User can remove the default background and/or change fore- and background colours to improve contrast. A reader might want to remove a "noisy" background image that makes it hard to distinguish text overlaid on top of it. Readers may find the publishers choice of fore- and background colours ill-suited to reading and need to change one or both to facilitate reading (e.g., bright contrast causing headaches, shades of the same colour that blend together, choices that conflict with colour blindness).
- Requirement(s)
- integration with DOM and CSS so that page/region/fragment can integrate user changes without significantly altering other aspects of content
