RSP-QL status

sample queries

JPC: Last time, we were working on the query samples. What is the status quo?

RS: I did my very old homework on aggregate queries. We agreed that we won't support the aggregate clause for now. However, the same behavior can be replicated with a subquery. See: https://www.w3.org/community/rsp/wiki/Aggregate_Clause Q3 from Alessandra does exactly that already. So U propose to conclude this issue.

PW explaining Q8 which combines static (street names from geonames) and streaming data to find most profitable areas for taxis.

JPC: Do these queries cover all new features of the RSP language? As I can see, we have a query which makes use of ISTREAM. Since we can simply exchange this with RSTREAM and DSTREAM, we are covered in that regard. Do we have a query which uses multiple streams? I think not.

EDV: We can make a query which includes a twitter stream or traffic notification streams.

ACTION: PW to write a query with multiple streams

JPC: We have aggregate queries.

PW: We also have a query using multiple windows on the same stream.

JPC: So, besides one query using multiple streams we have everything.

ACTION: PW to make queries look coherent (prefixes, descriptions, etc.)

semantics specification

(agreement that it would be good to have already something to discuss at the workshop)

JPC: i can make a first proposal for RSP-QL semantics and then we can discuss it.

EDV: +1

PW: +1

MS: How will the process look like? Maybe we have several proposals and can then merge them together?

JPC: Okay, yes why not? If anyone is interested in doing an additional proposal, please raise a hand.

(no one raises hand)

ACTION: JPC to draft a first proposal of language semantics

RSP Workshop

JPC: For the workshop to be successful, we need input from you. And we need to define the main subjects we are going to discuss. Of course, the main thing will be RSP-QL.

JPC: So we will send out information to help organizing the workshop in order to make it successful. We will reserve enough time for the EoIs, and also for the face-to-face meeting.

MS: will there be a way to participate in the workshop from remote?

EDV: Since I unfortunately will not manage to come, I would also be interested in joining from remote, if possible.

JPC: Yes, we will look into it, and provide information.

JPC: We also need a proposal for the invited talk since EDV will not make it.

(Discussion about possible speakers: Darko Anicic, Oscar Corcho, Axel Polleres, Jacopo Urbani?)

ACTION: all to propose speakers for the invited talk of the RSP workshop
