Signalling and discovery

Should signalling and/or discovery be part of the RemoteDOM specification

Yes: Having standardized and specified ways to discover available screen devices is beneficial to the user and the developers. The absence of those mechanisms would add the need to pay attention to those topics on top of implementing the actual remote display. "'No'": The discovery and signalling is beyond the scope of building a Remote DOM. The core specification should focus on rendering parts of the DOM in a different context, how to communicate with the "parent" DOM and how to ensure proper display.

Potential solution:' Creating a separate recommendation (or spec) to give a list of potential signalling / discovery methods to use for Remote DOM purposes.
