Reconstruction of Existing Historical Monuments

From Linked Building Data Community Group
  • Title: Reconstruction of Existing Historical Monuments
  • Description: For cultural heritage reasons, one might want to build a representation of existing buildings that are considered worthwhile to preserve in their original states. This has to be done through the collection of relevant data sources and documentation. As the remains of the building are still standing, one can rely on 3D point cloud models that are obtained through laser scanning, photogrammetry or other means, together with existing other building documentation (books, original drawings, pictures). The result is a virtual representation (3D model, database, web portal) that provides an interpretation of the existing building.
