Minutes
- Kris: explains what has been done in the wiki
- Kris: a split has been made between 'general use cases' and 'specific use cases' that are categorised under the general use cases. The specific use cases are maintained in separate wiki pages.
- Kris: an initial attempt is made of tagging the available use cases. Tags are maintained in separate wiki pages.
- Kris: two use case tag categories added: 'Data is Processed during BLC Stage' // 'Uses Data Generated During BLC Stage'
- Jakob: maybe we should also add the kinds of ontologies that we should use to enable a use case (different flavours of ifcOWL / OWL2DL, OWL2EL, ...)
- Kris: we should also further extend the existing use cases so that the can form a kind of guidelines when someone else aims at addressing similar uses cases
- Seppo: which standards (schemas, like ifcOWL, GIS standards, ...) are underlying the 'data requirements' / will there be a recommended standard for representing building control data, for example?
- Kris: the idea is that the community contributes cases and that the cases refer to external data schemas, standard and non-standard
- Kris: now we should try to further uplift the use cases and data sets and flesh out the details
- Kris: perhaps we can include IDM descriptions
- Kris: more user engagement is welcome
- Jakob: Kris, you will chair the use case session at the LDAC workshop, maybe we can try gathering use cases from the floor? Be prepared for that.
- Pieter: Matthias and me, we are working on the indoor navigation use case. this goes well.
- Pieter: we are trying to fit this use case within the wiki structure
- Matthias: we could use data, so if anyone has them, please supply
- Jakob: we have data from the duraArk repository that is going to be supplied over HTTP.
- Seppo: are there versioned models available? Jakob -> Yes, but you likely already used them
- Pieter: GIS combination
- Nam: we need models, can we build a shared IFC model repository?
- Pieter: indeed, we need IFC models for testing
- Jakob: they can try to collect models from users by asking the International User Group (IUG) at buildingSMART
- Pieter: it might also be worthwhile to rely on the models that are available in private software. For example, one can ask a company to use the BIMServer by TNO (Leon van Berlo), which includes an IFC-to-RDF converter plug-in. As such, the models remain private, but are available for testing in collaboration with the owner of the model.
- Peter Bonsma: we have private models - we can run sample executable processes. Just supply the data and we will send you the results
- Pieter: before anything public or shared is going to happen, there need to be processes that allow to anonymize and license the (IFC) model data
- Pieter: in this regard, it might be worthwhile to look into the publishing guidelines produced as part of the Ready 4 Smart Cities European project
- Matthias: Indeed, and more specifically at "D4.2: licensing issues and privatisation issues"
