Hangouts instructions

For the weekly meetings we're using Google Hangouts.


To use Hangouts you will need a Google Plus account. With this account you can sign in to Hangouts.

Through Gmail in your browser you can use Hangouts. If you see in the bottom-left corner of the Gmail page the Hangouts icon than Hangouts is already installed. Click on the Hangouts icon to sign in.

If you don’t see the icon, you probably have the old Google Chat function. To install Hangouts follow these steps:

  1. At the top of your Google Chat list, click your profile photo.
  2. Click Try the new Hangouts.
  3. Gmail will refresh, and you can start using Hangouts.


Additionally you can download a Chrome extension. Through this extension you can easily start video calls in Chrome. See https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hangouts/nckgahadagoaajjgafhacjanaoiihapd?hl=nl
