Success Criteria

2.2.1 Sequential Navigation Between Elements: The user can move the keyboard focus backwards and forwards through all recognized enabled elements in the rendered content of the current viewport. (Level A)

Test Procedure 1

Note: It is recommended that you test several different types of elements.

  1. Identify methods of sequential navigation between enabled elements on the relevant platform (e.g. TAB/shift-TAB on Windows, one-finger right/left swipe on iOS with VoiceOver ON).
  2. Open a test document that contains rendered text and a variety of enabled elements (e.g. links and form controls).

  3. Check that you can move keyboard focus sequentially from one enabled element to the next both forwards and backwards.

Expected Results 1

  • Check #3 is true
