==Abstract==

This document, "Applying WCAG 2.0 to non-Web Information and Communications Technologies" describes how the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and its principles, guidelines, success criteria and conformance model can be applied to non-web Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), specifically non-Web documents and software. [It provides informative guidance (guidance that is not normative and does not set requirements). This document is intended to become a Working Group Note that will be part of a series of technical and educational documents.]
==Status of This Document==

This section describes the status of this document at the time of its publication. Other documents may supersede this document. A list of current W3C publications and the latest revision of this technical report can be found in the W3C technical reports index at http://www.w3.org/TR/.

This document is a Working Draft being developed by the WCAG2ICT Task Force (Work Statement) under the coordination and review of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (WCAG WG), which is part of the Web Accessibility Initiative(WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Following further public review and refinement, it is expected to progress to a Working Group Note. The WCAG2ICT Task Force's work is consistent with the WCAG WG Charter that includes the following under its scope: "Coordinating with other entities adopting and using WCAG 2.0.

This draft includes changes made in response to comments received by 7 September 2012 in response to the earlier call for public review of the 27 July 2012 First Public Working Draft of this document. For this Working Draft, the WCAG WG particularly seeks comments on:

* Key Terms defined in this document;
* Additional Guidance sections in this Working Draft.

The focus of this review is the “Additional Guidance” sections, which start with the words “Additional guidance on…” and which are visually indicated with blue boxes, rather than the wording excerpted from other WCAG 2.0 documents. Please send any comments on the “Additional Guidance” sections of this document by ## December 2012 to the public mailing list public-comments-wcag20@w3.org. Please include the following in your comments: the title of the document, location within the document, the concern, the suggested change, any additional rationale for your comment.

This document includes many excerpts from “Understanding WCAG 2.0,” each of which is prefaced with the words “Intent from Understanding Success Criterion…” and which are also visually indicated with a yellow background. While comments on excerpted text from that document may help inform clarifications and updates to text from Understanding WCAG 2.0 or from other WCAG 2.0 supporting documents, those documents will continue to focus on web technologies and will not be changed to address non-web ICT. For comments on Understanding WCAG, please use the Comment Form online per the instructions, so that your comments are automatically entered into the comment-tracking database. Please note that WCAG 2.0 itself is a stable Web standard. Comments on this document will not directly affect WCAG 2.0 wording.
