Title

Relying on heading navigation to bypass repetitive content block (H69 new avatar)

Applicability

  • SC 2.4.1 (Level A)

Description

Based on this technique, users of screen reading software or browsers that permit navigation by headings are able to bypass a repetitive block of content. This technique is applicable where a heading for a section like the main content is present right after a repetitive block, say, a navigational section.

The heading may be marked up via an h<n> tag Technique H42: Using h1-h6 to identify headings or ARIA role="heading" Technique ARIA12: Using role=heading to identify headings.
