    What We Want
    Why can't the machine...

      - Tell me (AC rep) the status of all the documents in all
the working groups my organization participates in?
- Tell me (chair, member) when a meeting is on a WG home
page but missing from the events calendar? fix it?
- Notify me (chair) when an organization that is
participating in a working group is no longer a member.
- Show me (anyone) the news about just the activities that
      interest me?
- Tell me (managment) what last call reviews are
      outstanding?
- Notify me (chairs, management) of schedule slips that put
      my work at risk?
One big SQL Database?

      - "A single MIS system in place would have solved all of
      these issues".
-
All 30+ W3C WGs shall use the following forms...

          - Really? hmm... we use email to raise issues
- Really? 27 form round-trips to record the meeting
          minutes?

- Striking a balance between efficency, flexibility and
      structure
- Goal of making it cost-effective for people to record
      their knowledge for machine consumption.
Where's the truth?

      - In the database?
- In the HTML page?
- In the email archives?
- Sometimes: one source, multiple views
- Sometimes: multiple sources, check consistency
