Style Sheets |
- As style sheets increase in power:
- Less need for "ad hoc" images
- Less need for repetitive font markup on a per element basis
- Often shared across pages on a Web Site
- Decreases the total content to be transferred
- Possibly half of current protocol requests are GIF's that are simple bullets, or words in a particular font and/or foreground and background color; these should go away, and save both protocol overhead and bytes
- Style sheets are cachable themselves
