"Cougar" is the next version of HTML, after HTML 3.2. "Cougar" is a temporary name, the real name will be something like HTML x.x. It is still under development. A Working Draft with a first approximation of the specification is expected soon (January 1997), and it will appear in the list of technical reports at http://www.w3.org/pub/WWW/TR/. An experimental DTD for "Cougar" dating from July 1996 is still available at http://www.w3.org/pub/WWW/MarkUp/Cougar/DTD. A Proposed Recommendation for "Cougar" is not expected before the summer of 1997.
