Hello,
I think a complete look at payment protocols should include Secure Transaction
Technology (STT) from Microsoft and VISA. They are said be planning a beta in
late summer and a SDK by the end of the year.
Even if some other protocol ends up being supported by w3c, some form of
positioning and rationalization will have to be done.
Having multiple "defacto standards" will probably slow down market acceptance
overall. Therefore, we need to beable to make it easy for customers/users to
understand even if there is more than one protocol available.
