Guys,

As some of you know, we are working on a proposal for a secure payment protocol
(credit/debit/checking models), which we presented at WWWC and other places
[e.g. to be presented in MIT/LCS at May 18th]. The proposal is at:

http://www.zurich.ibm.ch/Technology/Security/extern/ecommerce/

In order to make the process as open as possible, Avi Rubin has opened an
open, unmoderated mailing list to discuss the protocols.

We hope that this proposal would be useful to help converge the different
payment solutions. We realise that some players may feel that they cannot
wait for a standard, and in fact we are working with some to help define
solutions; but we believe that a standard, as soon as possible, would help
a lot, and proprietary solutions should try to converge into it.

We are not aware of any intellectual property covering the proposal, please
tell us if you know.

Sorry for any duplicates of this message.

Best,
