<Chris> Meeting: WebCGM Cologne f2f day 2

<Chris> Agenda:

Miter limit

<Chris> svg definition: http://www.w3.org/TR/SVGMobile12/painting.html#StrokeMiterlimitProperty

cgm description differs from postscript

lofton says cgm 1999 intention was to use postscript definition

add to profile, indicate ps rendering is acceptable

<scribe> ACTION: lofton to communicate sc24 about mitre limit erratum [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/08/24-webcgm-minutes.html#action01]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-12 - Communicate sc24 about mitre limit erratum [on Lofton Henderson - due 2006-08-31].

resolution: cgm:1999 is considered to be wrong and the ps defintion was intended

rationale: cgm says truncate at mitre lenght whereas ps says revert to bevel join style

<scribe> ACTION: lofton to add T.6.24 approate wording to map values < 1 to 1 and allow ps rendering of mitre limit [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/08/24-webcgm-minutes.html#action02]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-13 - Add T.6.24 approate wording to map values < 1 to 1 and allow ps rendering of mitre limit [on Lofton Henderson - due 2006-08-31].

s/appoate/appropiate/

ulrich's apsid issue

question re node-metadata test, test asserts that attribute count should be 2

ulrich thinks attribute count should be 1

benoit says per specification text nodes don't have apsid so attribute count should indeed be 1

<scribe> ACTION: benoit to correct node-metadata test and 3 implementors need to correct their implementations and re-test [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/08/24-webcgm-minutes.html#action03]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-14 - Correct node-metadata test and 3 implementors need to correct their implementations and re-test [on Benoit Bezaire - due 2006-08-31].

static 10 matrix and dynamic 10 matrix

benoit has submitted isoview dynamic 10 test results

discussion on dynamic 10 fragment-idC2H-BE-01 test

isoview and vizex test results are same

<scribe> ACTION: lofton to change fragment-idC2H-BE-01.html [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2006/08/24-webcgm-minutes.html#action04]

<trackbot> Created ACTION-15 - Change fragment-idC2H-BE-01.html [on Lofton Henderson - due 2006-08-31].

transition request

evidence document has been reviewed?

david says peter zimermann has reviewed and commented

summary: went thru list for CR transition, thierry is drafting transition request and we think we don't have any problems with items

http://www.w3.org/2005/08/transition?docstatus=cr-tr

changes for CR text

lofton: Here is what I think comprises the editing changes for CR text.

Have I missed anything?

-- 3 changes for i18n comments

-- 1 change for Steven Pemberton (Abstract)

-- change for highlight method (split into two methods, match objBehavior semantics)

-- change for NS URI etc (only need to change the dereference document on OASIS)

implementation report

add that there webcgm illustrating tools and redlining tools

chris says that implementation report should be clear that matrix is for viewers not authoring tools

discussion about what should be included in 2.0 matrix

only viewers or should it include authoring tools, e.g. TI, IsoDraw...?

resolution: move TI should from dynamic 2.0 test and point to static matrix for authoring tools

chris proposes splitting 2.0 table into seperate tables, dymamic and static

resolution: split into 2 tables, remove remove TI from dynamic and move to static, also add IsoDraw to static 2.0

telecon with implementors

LH: is giving an update to implementors
... telling implementors that mitrelimit will change to match PS and OS routines.

FC: PS mitrelimit and GDI are the same?

LH: we think they are close, we will update the profile so that both are compliant
... the highlight method with change and a clearHighlight will be added

DC: we also accepted Ulrich's comment, the test is wrong.
... implementors will need to check that test again.

UL: we got a Windows update that is affecting some of our results

<Ben> scribe: Benoit

<Ben> scribenick: Ben

LH: I'm looking at the utf8 and utf16 tests

UL: I didn't get an update from dev regarding those tests yet.

FC: in sept we will have more resources to allocate to this project, we should be able to address some of our issues

LH: the highlight test will change
... we have until oct 5th to get 2 passing implementations.

FC: is anyone else going to implement text on path.

UL: if you have some priorities in the feature, you can state them...

LH: Itedo will implement text on path, but not by oct 5th
... Don is the one that did most of the work on text on path.

FC: I think we could pass the test by oct 5th.
... about pattern size... we render the pattern so that it remains recognizable to the user

LH is loading up PATTBL01.cgm

FC: we don't allow the pattern to get too small to be recognized
... what does the specification say about rendering such pattern size?

LH: Probably not much.

FC: I think if you were to increase the pattern size, the problem would go away
... it needs to be increase by a factor of 4+ IMO

LH: how do you do on PATTBL02.cgm?

FC: we don't render exactly like the png, but we are very close.

LH: this test (01) is not a very good screen test, it's more of a printer test.

DL: we do pretty well on the 02 test.

Resolution: pattbl01.cgm is unusable for screen resolution devices

LH: but it looks like pattbl02.cgm is good
... people should be focusing on pattbl02.cgm instead of pattbl01.cgm
... UL, when do you expect to have all the static 1.0 tests?

UL: you have them in my latest email

LH: I will distribute a new reference image of the mitre limit test
... please UL send me a list of all the tests you have problems with.

UL: ok.

LH: anything else?

BB: BHO?

DL: we had some problems with the BHO in a new version of IE.

DW: we are using the BHO

UL: we have had problems with the BHO with certain customer websites

DW: the implementation matrix should state if the products is available or not to customers

LH: let's be clear what product is used to get a PASS.
... is the BHO required to pass 1.0 dynamic tests?

DW: yes

DL: yes

BB: correction, the BHO is required for 1.0 dynamic tests in IE.

LH: we should communicate with CGMOpen to determine what is the problem some people are having with the BHO
...
... anything else?

FC: I'll have a build of our product ready for Chris, probably next week.

LH: ok

(implementors left the call)
