The spec contains the following examples in the <abbr> section: [[ <p>The <dfn id=whatwg><abbr title="Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group">WHATWG</abbr></dfn> is a loose ... <p>The <dfn id=whatwg>Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group</dfn> (<abbr title="Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group">WHATWG</abbr>) is a loose ... ]] The spec says about title="" that LF characters represent actual line breaks, however the line breaks in the above examples seem to be a result of automatic line wrapping in a text editor -- i.e. not intended to represent actual line breaks. (I've looked into actual Web pages to see which would be more useful: to line break tooltips or not to, and my conclusion was that it's more useful to do so. http://simon.html5.org/dump/titles-with-line-breaks-all.txt (thanks Philip`)) So I think the spec should advice authors to be careful with title="" and line-wrapping and the spec shouldn't use line-wrapped title=""s in examples unless the line breaks are intended part of the content.
