This is an archived snapshot of W3C's public bugzilla bug tracker, decommissioned in April 2019. Please see the home page for more details.
It's concrete about WebVTT cues, not text track cues. See proposal by Andreas Tai http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-texttracks/2015Feb/0005.html
Also: In the section the term "text track cue" is used which actually should be WebVTT cue.
https://github.com/w3c/webvtt/pull/173
We have a bit of a problem if we want to replace "text track cue" with "WebVTT cue" more consistently. For example, "WebVTT cue identifier" is about the syntax, while "text track cue identifier" is the concept. "WebVTT cue" is also part of the syntax, and there is no linkable definition of the concept itself. This really shows WebVTT's origin as TextTrackCue. I think that we should probably define "WebVTT cue" and related pretty names as the concepts, and change the names of the syntax definitions to use some suffix or prefix where needed. I just can't think of good names. Maybe "WebVTT cue block" and "WebVTT cue identifier string"?
I've given the moving of "WebVTT cue" to the concept section a go and replaced use of "text track cue" where it was used without further properties. Check https://github.com/w3c/webvtt/pull/177 If this works, we should also change "text track cue identifier" and similar to "WebVTT cue identifier" .
Patches landed.
Thanks for resolving this issue.
