- The note states: "The following CSS properties allowed by WebVTT have no corresponding TTML @style attributes: background-attachment background-image background-position background-repeat [...]"
IMSC1 (and SMPTE-TT) allow the (limited) use of images through the smpte:backgroundImage attribute.

Related notes:
We try to focus on TTML 1 and its common use. We may add an informative note that background-image could be used for the transport of image based subtitles.
