Title: PUSHING PUSH: ADVANCING THE FEATURES OF CHANNEL TECHNOLOGY Speaker: Drummond Reed, InterMind Corporation Abstract: In this presentation, Intermind will highlight the potential of channel technology, describing major feature sets not yet realized in the marketplace. Intermind will illustrate these features across seven major categories, review architectural considerations required to support them, and discuss possible implications for pending standards. These feature categories include: * Dynamic Profiling -- the creation, exchange, and management of the publisher, subscriber, and channel metadata that controls the delivery and processing of channel content. * Negotiated Delivery -- use of profile elements to determine what information to send whom, when to send it and how to package it. * Negotiated Security -- use of specialized profile elements to govern the encryption, authentication, and non-repudiation of channel messages and transactions. * Active Message Processing -- the application of channel profiles to trigger active processing and automatic management of delivered content or feedback. * Channel Feedback -- the use of the inherent feedback capability of channels to control both manual responses and automatic feedback of subscriber usage statistics. * Channel Linking -- this is a flexible and efficient new way for channels to access other channels to share common services such as directories, authentication, payment and collaborative filtering. * Data Interchange -- when combined with a standard structured data interchange format, channel technology can present a powerful new way to achieve intelligent information interchange over any kind of network.
