Final definitions

<JJ> w3c/matf#293

<JJ> Preview: https://deploy-preview-293--wcag2mobile.netlify.app/#key-terms

<Detlev> could you put a link to the editing draft here?

<Detlev> ah... sorry

Joe_Humbert On the section on application software where you talk about the table - do we need to stipulate the type? I don't think we want to make it inclusive

ACTION: Table 1 of Application Software - update text to reflect it is non-exhaustive list

Joe_Humbert about content - we're replace both content and web content - I proposed something to make it easier - I don't think we should change those terms to a single term - we don't want to advise on web content - there is a new issue on github on a high level, we are focussing on mobile not web content that would make it simpler for us

Joe_Humbert The statement is that we need to address it once and not everywhere

(issue 296)

<JJ> Poll: Do you agree to complete the definitions for Draft 2?

<Joe_Humbert> +1

<Tanya> +1

<Detlev> +1

<quintinb> +1

<pauljadam> +1

ACTION: current participants are in agreement: 5x +1 to complete the definitions

Success Criterion 2.5.8 Target Size (Minimum)

<JJ> github.com/w3c/matf/pull/291

<JJ> Link text has been updated: https://github.com/w3c/matf/pull/291#discussion_r3852519291

<JJ> Appears to be good to go, Shoobe has accepted the updated text.

MATF session at TPAC

<JJ> https://www.w3.org/news-events/tpac/2026/schedule/

That schedule was hard to follow

<JJ> MATF session https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/09e26708-7a73-475d-acc5-510d38f359b2/

I'll be there in person - whoop

<pauljadam> 04:00 bit too early for me 🤪

<Joe_Humbert> I might be able to make it in person if I get scholarship from W3C

<Tanya> Proposed agenda (~75 min)

<Tanya> 1. Presentation: Draft 2.0 of the MATF Note (15 min)

<Tanya> What’s changed since the first draft, the current structure, and the key outcomes of the Task Force’s work so far.

<Tanya> 2. Discussion with AG members: Layers and responsibility model (20 min)

<Tanya> We would like the broader AG group’s view on our model describing the different layers involved in mobile accessibility (OS, platform, app, and content) and where responsibility for accessibility sits at each layer. This is a topic the Task Force has spent significant time discussing, and wider input would be valuable.

<Tanya> 3. Discussion: MATF input on WCAG 3 (15 min)

<Tanya> Prior to TPAC, the Task Force will review the latest WCAG 3 draft from a mobile accessibility perspective. We would like to present our observations and discuss potential areas where mobile-specific considerations may need additional attention, such as target size and other topics identified by the Task Force.

<Tanya> 4. Discussion: Future-proof ACT rules for mobile (20 min)

<Tanya> When applying ACT methodologies to mobile apps, a common challenge is the lack of access to source code. We’d like to start a discussion on how ACT methodologies can still be applied in this context and how mobile accessibility requirements can be defined in a way that remains objective and testable.

<Tanya> 5. Wrap-up and next steps (5 min)

<Tanya> Summary of key discussion points and identification of follow-up actions.

<Joe_Humbert> scholarship is announced first week of Septemberish

Tanya we can adjust the agenda - we shared it a couple of months ago. regarding the 3rd point - during JJ's leave DetLev asked about the document that you shared from another group with the input points regarding WCAG 3 - an excel sheet - if there is something we need to present we need to start soon

I thought automation caught 105% of issues

Detlev - just while I've been away - what's the best way of engaging with the current draft? What would be the most productive? Do I just read things and think of new issues?

Detlev How do I update myself with the current draft

<JJ> Second Draft can be reviewed via: https://w3c.github.io/matf/

Detlev what's the current state of the discussion regarding confusion around WCAG2ICT?

So Apple just doesn't want guidance on mobile at all? That's so silly

Rob and Dani

But it was internal stuff not VoiceOver or anything

k thx bye!
