Spec review requests

2026-10-12: Recognized Entities v1.0

w3c/a11y-request#171

matatk: Does not display to the user according to the HR request form

janina: Have reviewed in the past; found no issues per my recollection

matatk: Too low level for our concerns

<JenStrickland> This one item seems worth reflection: The technologies DO create objects that don't have an inherent text representation

<JenStrickland> The image property references a visual identifier (such as a logo, photograph, or icon) that has no inherent text representation. The specification does not define a dedicated text-alternative property for the referenced image; consuming applications that display the image should supply an accessible alternative, for which the entity's name is a

<JenStrickland> reasonable source. This is the primary accessibility consideration worth flagging for review.

matatk: We should likely close

Fazio: Notes use cases--Sec 2

matatk: Nice!

matatk: We have three more--but no progress from me, and we have others to get to ...

WebMCP comment - revision 2!

matatk: Believe we're close on a comment ...\

<JenStrickland> Would this align with accessible alternative?

<Vanessa5> #APA

PaulG: The web is for people and we need to encourage people to build UI so people can check things - if we go the other way, this will not happen and we won't be able to build trustworthy sites.

janina: If the W3C stamp matters on a spec, then we need to consider people's needs.

janina: more people need to review the comment draft matak wrote
… if you have no comment, +1 in email or a like in github will help

w3c/a11y-tracking#318 (comment)

<JenStrickland> Todd Libby! Yes, thank you, stevef!

<JenStrickland> I'm so sorry.
