Meeting minutes

Agenda Review & Announcements

<PaulG> https://autosponge.github.io/well-known-accessibility-report/spec

<Zakim> matatk, you wanted to talk about scoping, privacy

PaulG: Announcement that MCP/AI agent tooling specs make URI end point spec development valuable. Preliminary spec in IRC.

Janina: Reminder that time zones are synching up - everyone soon

Spec review requests

MathML 4.0

<matatk> request: w3c/a11y-request#151

<matatk> tracking: w3c/a11y-tracking#303

matatk: Asking Jason about this - is anyone willing to volunteer to review this (Math ML). This is a candidate recommendation, due date is a couple of weeks. Delta of changes is available.

matatk: Neha has offered to review.

CSS Gap Decorations

<matatk> request: w3c/a11y-request#150

<matatk> tracking: w3c/a11y-tracking#301

Eric_hind: there are some issues with accessibility of the document.

matatk: Recommend to use the metathread to bring up common issues.

Accessibility Implementation Guidelines (DVB BlueBook A185)

<matatk> tracking: w3c/a11y-tracking#266

CSS Anchor Positioning Level 1

<matatk> tracking: w3c/a11y-tracking#289

matatk: Still looking for reviewers

matatk: Accessibility Considerations update coming for CSS Anchor Positioning

mpaiva: Example placeholders need updating. Neha has some items to add.

matatk will update the codepens collaboratively

neha will do the updating

Issue tracking

CSS Fonts - <meta text-scale> limits

<matatk> tracking: w3c/a11y-tracking#300

matatk notes that we do have new issues

CSS Forms - Switch input might need a state indicator

<matatk> w3c/a11y-tracking#297

matatk notes that default CSS for switches won't quite support some existing ways like 1/0 indicators

matatk looking for someone to review

PaulG: Positioning aspects of this is crux - not really any WCAG perspective.

PaulG: Left and Right switching are not obvious, up and down switching is a known paradigm

PaulG: 1 and 0 are obvious

PaulG: Just added a few comments. Janina is wanting a more official APA response.

CSS Forms - Specify readonly input styles

<matatk> w3c/a11y-tracking#296

CSS Forms - Specify readonly input styles

<matatk> w3c/a11y-tracking#296

matatk for the CSS Forms item 296, looking for comments. PaulG may review - looking for use case

PaulG: For some use cases, aria-disabled True might be sufficient

jonCohn: Only time seen used is on government form in my experience

janina: Disadvantage of rendering is a loss of structure - having that context helps.

Fredrik: Only a few cases I've seen with values correctly formatted/connected - not common.

matatk: CSS issue group closed the issue with no change - their IRC log is captured so we can cross-check why there was or wasn't a change. If someone could dive into that and see if our thoughts are accounted for.

<Zakim> matatk, you wanted to talk about the status

<mpaiva> https://codepen.io/mpaiva/pen/yLrxYPw

mpaiva: Link attached shows context of the copy/paste value - a practical example

matatk We are needing more input on the current user flow. We should review why CSS is not adjusting from their logs.

PaulG will have a look at the logs.

Verifiable Credentials - Seek accessibility input

<matatk> w3c/a11y-tracking#293

Scroll-triggered animations

<matatk> w3c/a11y-tracking#272

matatk: They are still writing accessibility considerations - we are paused until this is merged and then add extra. After that, others, including COGA can review.

matatk: If anyone wants to look at this, feedback on pull requests would be great. Otherwise, we will ask for a patch if needed

PaulG: No other CSS business today
