Meeting minutes

w3c/using-aria#63

pkra: is there anything to discuss?

Daniel: I'll respond.

move html-aria to monorepo https://github.com/w3c/html-aria/issues/564

pkra: I mostly came upon this because it's not accessible by the group.
… but it got me thinking about having svg-aria.
… and maybe hters.

jamesn: html-aria started in HTML. If there's interest on say the SVG end.

pkra: right. we have svg-aam editors, svg2 is seeing work. Maybe we should check.

jamesn: sounds good. Needs people to want to do it.

Daniel: I'll look into the access problem.
… it will be easier to do the review in separate repository.

pkra: this all sounds good. I'll close the issue. We can always revisit.

WIP: Add CSS-AAM editor’s draft https://github.com/w3c/aria/pull/2673

pkra: since I mentioned this PR in w3c/aria#2710, I wanted to check if we can do anything to move it forward.

Daniel: I can ping the editors.

Jamesn: the preview is not working.

Daniel: I'll take a look.

pkra: we have reviewers.

Daniel: James Teh had change requests.

jamesn: right, but at this stage, we could also just merge it now.

Daniel: right.

spectranaut_: let's ping one more time.

Daniel: sounds good.

Add header (sectionheader) and footer (sectionfooter) html-aam mapping https://github.com/w3c/aria/pull/2543 agendabot]

pkra: I added this to check what's missing to merge this.

rahim: I thought that was done.

spectranaut_: let's merge!

jamesn: seems to have WPT test.

pkra: merged

Add transparent generic definition https://github.com/w3c/aria/pull/2599

pkra: I met with Sarah and it made me wonder if we should have an explicit warning about the accessibility tree.

jamesn: for my part, I don't understand why browsers can't work around trimming generic nodes to avoid messing things up.

pkra: I also filed w3c/aria#2739 recently

spectranaut_: I think I see there's a need to improve the section.

pkra: alright, I'll try to draft a PR.

rahim: I'm presenting at CSUN.
… goes on cookiecrook's proposal for a webdriver way to query the accessibility trees.
… that will help to test the accessibility tree.
… this will allow much more surface area for tests
