Janina: Paper is waiting my attention.
Jason: keep it going and see where it is. Last meeting of the year is next week
Janina: if the work is done, let's meet. If not done, let's not meet. That would determine if we meet next week
Jason: yes. If we don't meet - wishing everyone a wonderful and rfreshing holiday and we'll see eaach other in January.
Scott: agree. Great plan
Janina: confirm - if updates happen by early next week, we'll meet.
Miscellaneous topics.
Jason: my update is I've been attending a seminar yesterday and a meeting associated with assistive tech center. Doing very good work on tactile graphics and displays and related areas. Visiting speaking...combination on audio and tactile. Interesting work. Not hitting web standards yet, but wouldn't be surprised if "how to create tactile graphics
on web independently" might come up in standards activities. Ebraille standard from Daisy consortium...idea is it's for pre translated braille and uses cascading style sheets and HTML, a simplified version of epub that uses braille documents. Has at least a few implementations...on conversion side. And i think theyr'e planning to include graphics
as part of that as well. That hasn't implicated w3c yet, but it may well. Wanted to note that kind of work going on.
Janina: let you know about upcoming first public working draft call for consensus - early January. COGA wants to publish a research document, a pointer/collection of pointers that provides the background for their various concerns for their work that undergirds their use cases.
Janina: would be very interested in us taking their publication seriously and giving them good feedback if we could. If we could plan some time to do that. Come up with some good output at the end. COGA will likely need some help. Been doing some support to contextualize. I think it'd be welcome and useful. And the citation documentation we came up
with last time bibtext output with JSON, Lisa created a webpage for herself to expedite the next step of that. Could be interesting and useful, it could become a tool for us and w3c.
Jason: early next year then we can start reviewing this
Janina: yes
… there were some contextualizing concerns. Everyone has made this mistake. Get so involved in doing the work, you need to use different language than what's in the task force.
Jason: suggest, if you can give us a signal for RQTF review, i think you'll get some volunteers.
Janina: not asking for a special review, but do it doing the first public working draft. But will give you a heads up before the CFC goes out.
Jason: interpreters are aware that they may be called upon when Raja is coming in to participate. Standing arrangement.
