Lisa: Per usual, review actions in google sheet once a month.

Lisa: Reivew of New draft, making content usable.

julierawe: New titles for guidelines working draft provided - we can discuss.

<tiffanyburtin> Possible option: Cognitive Accessibility for Digital Content

Lisa: in process of publishing first draft of issue papers. Walked through our current process stage (ex: identifying show stoppers).
… we have found a few issues. Asked how far we are on our reviews.

julierawe: full review of voice interfaces and partial review of online safety. Isses found are not huge but might be good for the paper author might want to go through it. Almost done with SDM but found a table without a section header.

Lisa: agree that the table in SDM should have a section header. There is an urgency to do hit the target of a first working draft before this year's holiday break. Other issues will wait until next year.
… The tabs of this document collect issues specific to them. If you find something that affects all papers (like name mis-spelling) it should go in the 'All papers' tab.

julierawe I'll stop looking for all issues and focus on showstoppers. The most time consuming task is tracking and checking references.

Lisa: It will be OK for the first drafts to not have perfect citations. Agreed on the time consuming and many pieces of the citation review process.

julierawe: will finish reviewing big issues in SDM. And then we can use some sort of system to finish the work in 2026.

Lisa: Kevin found a few big issues. He made a recommendation that Indoor Navigation shouldn't be published yet. He felt our scope was bigger than 'web accessibility'. Lisa explained that these focused on user needs and issues would naturally be bigger than web. Used the example of orientation could be an issue and then our next step would be to

apply the issue to web and zoom in on solutions.
… Kevin is recommending a few sentences that express the context of the paper being broader than web accessibility. His recommendations can be found ni the 'All papers' tab.
… does anyone have issues with these sentences being added?

<kirkwood> agree, think the digital and physical navigation’ become conflated

<Lisa> any issues with these solution

<Charli> I really like "Meeting User Needs" rather than "Solutions"

kirkwood: I agree with what Kevin is recommendation. It feels like physical and digital navigation has become conflated in our document.

Lisa: Wants to add some of these sentences. Then after the first working draft do a deeper review with these concerns as a lens.

<julierawe> (IRC kicked me out)

Rachael: I think since we haven't done a CFC we will be able to review this as part of the first CFC. Chairs have not had a chance to review the docs, yet.
… normally Chairs would normally review this, but we have been so busy with this quarters work. We don't defer to Kevin, but were grateful he had a chance to review.

Lisa: Good, we will try to send our CFC tomorrow.
… re: working with other groups, Lisa will follow up with Matt (possibly with Eric) to work on better inclusion in Github.
… re: <amount> as a spec update, Lisa and Julie follow up with Matt, Janina and the people working on the recommendation.

julierawe: update on WCAG 3, the subgroups are paused for now as the editors are incorporating feedback from the our Guidelines test performed in October. A new working draft is being finalized (December / January) and then subgroups will start up again to conitnue their work for the next draft (planned for Summer 2026).

<Zakim> Jennie, you wanted to discuss next sprint of work for subgroup members

Jennie: do we have timing for Subgroup work re-start?

julierawe: dependent on the working draft release timing. Could be January or February.

<Rachael> Terminology survey: https://www.w3.org/wbs/35422/terminology_sets/?login=

Rachael: hoping for mid-January. Survey will come out next week for subgroup participation. The groups need some tweaking to align with the work needed.
… there is a terminology survey open right now.

Eric_hind: we had a discussion about going over FAST document. Could we add it to our Thursday call?

<Lisa> any objections

<Lisa> next item

Lisa: reviewed our most recent document updates that support previous requests.

Charli: thank you for saying 'don't use the queue' - this is a significant technique improvement that really helps me.

Charli: you mentioned buddies - is there a way to connect people?

@lisa: I was thinking about writing to people but have been focused on Issue Papers. My plan it to write to people and ask if the match is good.

Charli: however you want to do it, Irealize that sometimes matches don't work for a lot of things. I see we have people, just wondered what the next step is.

Lisa: does anyone wnat to take on next step for buddies?

julierawe: I can take that on

<Jennie> Like as part of onboarding new members - great idea

<Lisa> https://docs.google.com/document/d/15HtPkkYx1CIl6bAwP2nsSZKhqTVbqcuMDRz5RmtmvXg/edit?tab=t.aemb6eg10jyg

Shared that we have a new W3C member who is interested in joining us. Feels like the buddy 'assignment' would naturally happen in our onboarding process.

Rachael: asked if she has reached out to chairs.

julierawe: WCAG 3 plain language sub group member would like to participate in COGA. How do we steer people towards to TF vs CG.

<Jennie> * Apologies - have to drop. Have a good week.

Lisa: if they are already a member, we can steer them to the TF. CG has a different purpose that helps us create user needs.

@tiffany

@tiffany - jumping in to help with buddies as a neuro-divergent translation services.

Lisa: does anyone have an issue that is making it difficult to engage with COGA as much as you like?

@tiffany - I have appreciated it lately when people have emailed me and let me know that there is something specific to engage with.

<Lisa> next item

Lisa: it would make sense to hold this agenda item until we can can get Rain on the call.
