Meeting minutes

Investigate more effective generation of attribute values tables & IDL details, aria#2642

pkra: I think that's just new.

<spectranaut_> Chrome has this: https://source.chromium.org/chromium/chromium/src/+/main:third_party/blink/renderer/core/html/aria_properties.json5?q=aria_properties.json5&ss=chromium%2Fchromium%2Fsrc

spectranaut_: I think this is related to something I wanted to bring up. Joanie is working on something for chrome.
… might be more for roleInfo but perhaps here, too.
… the linked file has a lot of information, incl. roleInfo and IDL information.
… joanie is updating this to add reflection, and also generating some to reduce complexity in the code.
… joanie asked if ARIA may maintain something like it.

pkra: right, I think that matches the issue from Mike Smith.

spectranaut_: right! I'll link to that on the chrome end.

pkra: would be great to have more use for this.
… makes sense to me to optimize this for browsers and things like ACT. The child specs only need a small portion of, e.g., roleInfo.
… I think we can move Rahim's issue to the ToDo column. He wanted to first take a deeper look.

Cleanup for 9.2 states and properties invalid values aria #1758

pkra: I stumbled upon this and wasn't sure what the status was.

spectranaut_: I think we should ask Rahim to take a quick look if this relates to the IDL changes.

pkra: ok I'll do that.

CI for roleInfo.js PR #2625

pkra: just wanted to ping because I changed it a lot.
… [recapping the state of the PR]

spectranaut_: how did we left off?

pkra: we wanted to not change roleInfo in PRs to avoid the fork problem we had with prettier
… so just use git diff to error when changes.
… then run on main to update after merge

spectranaut_: sounds good.

Daniel: I'll get back to this. I want to improve the check. Github actions log are fairly inaccessible, I want to work out how to push the info into the thread.

dpub-aria 1.2 ?

matt: what would it take to get started with 1.2? I had people come with ideas.

Daniel: both dpub specs are now essentially living standards.
… we just have to make sure we can do a diff easily for review.
… then horizontal review as usual.
… that would get to CR. Then we could also try to get it to rec via the bord.

matt: so adding features would be the easier way.

Daniel: yes.

matt: concretely, people want to review extended description.
