Sub-group work

alastairc: anyone new or would like to announce a change of affiliation?
... our main thing for today is kicking off some more sub-group work
... a few weeks ago we did mention that editors and subgroup leads will be doing in-depth meeting for WCAG 3
... in a couple weeks, so we won’t be meeting on Sep 30
... chairs and editors will be heads-down
... in that week, we’ll be trying to incorporate all discussions we’ve been having over the past several weeks
... and we’ll bring a draft back to this group
... to work through issues before publishing
... will dedicate the 2 hours this week and next week to prepare
... if you can do additional meetings outside AG meetings or work asynchronously
... the goal is to update any developing requirements and assertions
... little modifications to quite a few things when we were trying to prepare for publication
... look for comments that have come out of the review process
... second goal, work on exploratory requirements and assertions; things that didn’t go into publication
... any missing requirements, tests, assertions
... we’re going to determine who’s in each subgropu
... will get on to that after questions

Chuck: chair hat off
... you went through goals in general
... chairs gave the error subgroup a specific task
... which we’re working on right now
... doesn’t align well with the first goal, but it does with the second
... we’re really exploring triggers
... so just wanted to make that note

alastairc: okay, no priority between goals 1 and 2
... some of the groups are in different places
... interaction and AT support has no updates that got into last publication
... I think most groups are in between
... some requirements to keep working on, some assertions
... goals — #1: backward porting from draft into docs, and #2 filling out missing requirements/assertions
... so the next thing is to have a look at the current groups
... I’ll share screen
... do we have Makoto or Frankie present?
... in Image and Media Alternatives & Control, Makoto and Frankie are still active
... would anyone like to join this subgroup?

<Zakim> Chuck, you wanted to discuss a question on goals when you are at a good pause point

Laura_Carlson: I’m in this group too, so please add me to the list

alastairc: the next group is Visual Appearance
... looking for members and for a facilitator
... anyone?

Rain: I wouldn’t be able to facilitate for another couple weeks, but starting in October
... and I could move from Organization, Structure, & Cognitive Support if no one else steps forward

alastairc: for the next 2 weeks then, I’ll stay in this group and be a temporary facilitator
... Plain Language, Consistency, & Familiarity is the next group
... would anyone like to switch in or out?

LenB: we would like more participation
... we could move to a different time to support that

<CarrieH> I feel it's a scheduling issue..

alastairc: sounds like you’ve got just enough
... next is Organization, Structure, & Cognitive Support
... I know you haven’t had too much participation
... would a different time help for the non-AG meeting time?

giacomo-petri: we can definitely talk about it as the first topic in the breakout room

alastairc: okay, good idea
... Inputs
... I know you’ve made good progress

<CarrieH> I''m interested in that group too but I like both topics: plain language and also Organization, structure...

alastairc: would anyone like to switch in or out?

GreggVan: it’s been good; core participants
... I recommend dropping into working pages and leave notes and suggested edits
... they’ve been very useful to us

alastairc: Interaction & AT Support
... I think this group has been asynchronous

mike_beganyi: yes, I’m here

alastairc: please work out what you’ve got so far
... next group is Help, Errors, Feedback, & Triggers
... Chuck, are you helping with this one?

Chuck: participation has been good
... tag teaming with Rashmi on leadership
... would anyone like to switch in our out?

joryc: I need to switch out
... I would be happy to move over to Organization, Structure...

alastairc: okay, thank you
... then Safety & Deception

Todd: we’ve been meeting in the hour before this AG meeting
... another person would be great, but I think we’re in a good trajectory
... I sent out an email a few days ago
... of the 3 items for Safety & Deception and it may have gone into spam
... voicing what the subgroup is trying to accomplish with guidelines
... and addressing respondents’ concerns and trying to get feedback

alastairc: I did receive that
... maybe create a tab in your document to record that and responses

Todd: okay, I’ll do that

alastairc: is there anyone who isn’t in a subgroup and would like to be?
... I’ll open breakout rooms
... should have button in Zoom interface
... please join yours
... this will be your chance to join the subgroup, check that the alternate meeting time is okay or reschedule
... and then work through the 2 goals mentioned earlier
... any questions?
