Meeting minutes

Introductions. Updates.

matatk: I will be attending TAG
… so will send regrets for the 16th

Symbols

Russell: I looked into software. Identified a commercial package that should work
… Font Creator, https://www.high-logic.com/font-editor/fontcreator
… it should support the SVG requirements that we have

Lionel_Wolberger: Looks like Home meets our needs, see https://www.high-logic.com/font-editor/fontcreator/comparison-chart

matatk: Symbols explainer has some updates, can get to the next changes this week

Lionel_Wolberger: On the publicity side, we may expect more public knowledge of symbol boards and AAC in general
… as a podcast, the "Telepathy Tapes", is becoing very popular, and focuses on autistic users of symbol and spelling boards

Well Known Destinations

Destinations doc PR

<matatk> matatk: I made the requested changes: https://github.com/w3c/adapt/pull/325/commits/e9a268f542e9c39137c80b9f4c8dc1c2cb5e3f1a

<gb> Pull Request 325 Start drafting the destinations document (by matatk)

gb, off

Semantic Web Tools PR

w3c/adapt#326

Lionel_Wolberger: I can review and put comments prior to next meeting

Naming things

matatk: The name "Well Known Destinations", while an apt description of what we do, has a confusing overlap with the "Well Known URIs" spec that inspired us (but this now works in a very different way).
… I suggest we try to use our Task Force name, Adapt
… perhaps Adapt Destinations

janina: I'm not against renaming, but we have many sensitivities around similar naming to keep in mind.

Lionel_Wolberger: I'm in on the name game. It can be hard. Sometimes the first name is the best one, and there's high cost of moving away. But there is potential confusion. Let's discuss again.

janina: 'well know' may have to go. 'destinations' probably here to stay

Abhinav: Adapt Destinations is more confusing to me.
… Well-known Destinations is much clearer, but does have similarity to the other spec.
