<Fazio> ARIA requirement? WCAG is supposed tro be technology sgnostic

<Fazio> agnostic

New Business

Fazio: messaging has been updated Shawn asked and those changes have been updated, and in PR is out to review for sync of sheet with doc. will update the change log once merged. We need the abstract updated from WAI. few minor tweaks needed.
… just some editorial changes.

janina: the introduction needs updating, Shawn wants some substantial updates there.

Fazio: will make an issue to address this.
… style guide is already an issue.
… still a few things to update before we merge the changes.

Jen: will take a pass once that is merged.

janina: this is great that Management has read this and wants to publish.
… I won' be here next week.

Sheri: section about "other reviewed maturity models" but I could not find it went back to 2022 not sure when it was removed.
… digital a11y maturity model, university modes, pdaa, ISO standard, etc. 5-6 bullet points with links on how these informed our model.

jkline: what about non open source like the Dam model. like deque Maturity model for example.
… we should mention that if you are following another model, this one is free.

Sheri: most of those private models end users don't see the model only the assessment.

Fazio: to justify with W3C we can just say other maturity models exists but may be behind a paywall.

janina: I can move that into the Into vs an Abstract thing.

Sheri: I will send out a draft to the mailing list.

david: there is the IAAP model for higher education, but this again is not public.

Sheri: but they don't give the model, you are paying for the service but not see the model it self.

Janina: this is a valuable that a non-profit could turn into a for fee product on this open model it is valuable

jkline: if you take the model and convert it into a project plan with dates etc. that is one of the benefits, you could take it into an accessibility project plan.

Darek: an AI project can create a full project plan.

<Neha> https://www.taskade.com/

<Darek> taskade.com is a tool dedicated to define, manage, plan and track programs and projects

janina: there is a lot of things around ethics around AI, that will come out this summer.
… APA request to have Charles be in person at TPAC to have a breakout session on Benetech's work with the maturity model and our enhancements and monetization of this.

Fazio: low cost as well, you don't need to have a super expensive solution either, it can be grass roots low cost options.

Jennifer: there are other case studies, I will be writing this up.

GitHub Issue #259 Update Research Section

w3c/maturity-model#259

<gb> Issue 259 Update Research Section (by Helixopp)

<SusiPallero> Sorry! Got caught in another meeting. Hi everyone!

Sheri: there are proprietary maturity models that req. paid consulting services but were not considered for this model. I will add that information after the 5/6 models.

GitHub Issue #255 New Proof point needed related to filing exceptions / risk assessments for inaccessible IT.

w3c/maturity-model#255

<gb> Issue 255 New Proof point needed related to filing exceptions / risk assessments for inaccessible IT. (by jeffkline)

jkline: The current model does not include a proof point(s) for documenting inaccessible IT, developed, used or procured, in the form of "exceptions", or risk assessments for noncompliant digital products and services and requiring high level sign off.The appropriate dimension needs to be selected for inclusion of this new proof point and the proof point added to the model (document and assessment tool.
… need a mechanism to allow inaccessible digital assets. need a line item in the model for that. should not be over looked.

Sheri: I agree, can't be in procurement could be built internally, we don't have a governance dimension maybe ICT?

Fazio: ICT policy should be under governance but not for this version.
… we do have a proof point under culture currently but we can do it now and put it in that placement.

Sheri: I can see it going there.
… I will use vague terms, we need to make sure these Risk Assessments or time limits on these Risk assessments.

jkline: I can write the proposed proof point in the next review? I can put it into the issue.

Fazio: Yes I already added this to Github issue you can comment and add your proof point.
… we will wait on added an issue for a new Governance dimension until after we release.

GitHub Issue #245 Add the term References to Section 1.3

w3c/maturity-model#245

<gb> Issue 245 Add the term References to Section 1.3 (by jeffkline)

Fazio: Needed to include references in support of MM implementation as needed for current and future releases.

jkline: I will close it, not sure what I was thinking here.

GitHub Issue #244 Proof points related to financial allocations that support digital accessibility maturity missing

w3c/maturity-model#244

<gb> Issue 244 Proof points related to financial allocations that support digital accessibility maturity missing (by jeffkline)

Fazio: There are currently no proof points related to fiscal aspects of implementing the maturity model. Without budget for the initiative, probability of success (full maturity ) is low. I propose adding a proof point to each of the dimensions for ensuring that budget is planned and committed to bring the dimension proof points to full maturity.Sample language:Financial planning in place and funding committed for advancing this dimens

ion's proof points to full maturity (optimize stage)

jkline: this could go under culture

janina: culture and society?

Sheri: culture was a catch all
… maybe a nice broad term for culture "oversite"?

Fazio: general training did we add a proof point?,

Neha: yes we added one. ICT policy.

Fazio: should we add it as a proof point for the financial one?

jkline: +1

<Fazio> +1

<Neha> +1

<CharlesL> +1

Sheri: and if we change culture to oversite...

Fazio: reviews current proof points in culture to see if it works for Oversite.

charles: maybe culture and oversite

jkline: I agree

<SusiPallero> +1

Sheri: Oversight and Culture (lead with Oversite)

Fazio: will create a separate issue.

Charles: also affects alphabetical ordering.

Sheri: update all links & spreadsheet etc.

%s/Oversite/Oversight

David: we still have some editing with the abstract & introduction, research stuff and getting these last changes for Oversight and changing the order of the dimensions.

janina: W3C just wants a copy edit run.

%s/Oversite/Oversight/g

jkline: I am still getting kicked out of IRC
… Charles and janina are not having these issues.

janina: the IRC lounge works well on Mac OS.

IRC is a problem for accessibility.

Charles: I turned on time stamps on and will send logs to Roy next week once we have a full set of logs.
