APA Rechartering

The WAI-Adapt Task Force develops normative specifications and best practices guidance in support of enhanced and personalized web content delivery to better meet the diverse requirements of various persons with disabilities

by more fully exploiting underused features already specified in HTML5; and providing new html markup elements and attributes as needed in partnership with WHATWG.

matatk: Change HTML5 to HTML, not sure we need to mention specific groups

janina: Ack

Lionel_Wolberger: change to, and proposing new html markup elements and attributes as needed

janina: Ack

matatk: Suggest we keep the first HTML (without the 5), and swap the second for "content" (and include more commas). Then we have the scope to look at CSS etc as others just pointed out on the call.

Well Known Destination Extension Demonstration

Lionel_Wolberger: The extension reads per page?

matatk: yes

Lionel_Wolberger: The current demo has rel="contact" can I also write rel="contact-spa"?

matatk: No

matatk: Rel attribute values are defined by a group (WHATWG and/or microformat), and then those values are expected

Lionel_Wolberger: Could we add parameters

matatk: There are ways that we could add parameters

matatk: I expect we will want to add parameters, rather than define many rel values like help-investing, help-banking, help-internet

Abhinav: Do we want to show this demo?

matatk: Yet to do: update the explainer (almost done); respond to COGA regarding the type of help that will be received
… answer open questions on the explainer
… then: mock up more site examples particularly with sub-sites, socialize this demo to COGA

janina: We should move quickly, we can get into WCAG 3.0 if we complete and socialize by May

<Zakim> matatk, you wanted to mention minor comments

Symbols

matatk: We are asking the accessibility discovery center for best time: Tuesday aft, or Wed.

https://github.com/w3c/adapt/wiki/2025%E2%80%9005-Face-to-face-meeting

Lionel_Wolberger: Would like to see the lunch break made specific

janina: Would like to see more specific topics

matatk: Registry, slide deck, note document, extension

Lionel_Wolberger: What about our Ruby and font discussions?

matatk: Included in 'note document'
… add explainer: Registry, slide deck, note document, extension, explainer
… note the "Homework" section, these are tasks that need to conclude prior to the meeting

janina: Better to make more overt, in the agenda wiki page, the topics we itemize here

Russell: My report is here https://github.com/w3c/adapt/wiki/Symbols-implementation-tests
… note this is a work in progress, it contains issues that we need to resolve
… I draw the Task Force's attention to section "Mapping code points within the font"
… follow the argument sub-headings from (1) simplest case up to (4) most troublesome case
… these steps from 1,2,3,4 highlgiht the challenges in using the Unicode approach

matatk: Thank you Russell!

Lionel_Wolberger: +1
