1 October 2024 is the 30th anniversary of the World Wide Web
Consortium.
We held W3C@30 on Wednesday 25 September, taking the
opportunity that the web standards community gathered in
Anaheim, CA, USA, at our annual TPAC conference.
We celebrated three decades of W3C and of advances in the Web,
demonstrated the incredible impact of W3C standards on the world,
imagined the possibilities for the next 30 years of the Web, and enjoyed
ourselves during an authentic evening of talks and a gala.
‘The Web is now central to the daily lives of billions, and
the Web Consortium has played an important role in it for 30
years.
At W3C@30 we offer our thanks to all who have contributed
to the Web and W3C over the past decades to empower an
equitable, informed, and interconnected society. As we
celebrate what has been achieved and what we envision for the
future we know that through our work together, today is better
than yesterday. I’m confident that together, tomorrow will be
better than today.’

Consortium.
