Meeting minutes

<benjamin> Thank you!

<JenStrickland> Here's the Google doc we're working in: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YXkO9suUpjBSoZllSoZ-ExkZ_rPazXsER1treWMi5P0/edit?usp=sharing

JenStrickland: Equity community group met with APA Maturity Model at W3C annual meeting, TPAC.

Sustainable web was part of that conversation as well.

tzviya: International probably not part of that, but privacy will be.

JenStrickland: Look for yellow highlights for discussion points, strike outs are recent removals.

JenStrickland: TPAC conversation entirely contructive.

AMM TF pleased that Equity started with MM, and were interested in that experience.

JenStrickland: We would not want to repeat/duplicate portions of the AMM, but be additive.

Please review paragraphs with strikethroughs, note if any concerns for deletions.

We are not working on that draft, but it can be helpful for some historical context

We also have an informal process document.

[working from google doc]

tzviya: Rather than detail, propose shift to mapping out global approach from starting with AMM. I don't want us to get too caught up in structure.
… MM getting deconstructed into spreadsheets when meat is the proof points.

JenStrickland: I have some hesitancy to call this an EQUITY maturity model when we are trying to align into AMM.
… just being a Maturity Model can avoid any conflict.

tzviya: It is a future discussion if equity is integrated into a broader maturity model.

JenStrickland: We need to be mindful that out writing is compatible with drafting of AMM, so that is one benefit of AMM as starting point.

JenStrickland: There are some good book on intersectionality.

Lessons in Chemistry , also a series is one.

<JenStrickland> The Intersectional Environmentalist by Leah Thomas, How to Dismantle Systems of Oppression to Protect People + Planet

JenStrickland: JenStrickland: I will reconsider Tzviya suggestion to focus on Equity Maturity Modal versus Maturity Model.

Bruce: My preference is for Equity MM rather than MM because it makes the task more concrete for me.

<bruce_bailey> s/JenStrickland: JenStrickland/JenStrickland/

[Jen continues working through Introduction portion of google doc]

tzviya: Barriers not ideal word, "harms" might be better.
