Ege: I'm member of the Web of Things WG
Context
Ege: we identified the need to share our experiences as the W3C community
… as outcome of the breakout day in March this year
<EgeKorkan> 10
Ege: goal is to obtain more knowledge from others and find a place within W3C for this type of discussion
WoT WG Analysis
Ege: WoT wants to have a binding registry
… W3C registry mechanism is very open by design
… only 3 registries so far at W3C
Ege: we analyzed both W3C and IANA processes
<Ege shows the findings of slide 12>
Ege: the TT WG provides a checklist for registry
Summary
Ege: Despite the process document, the registry concept is still very custom per document and needs considerations from each WG, which is intended.
… More exchange between the groups and developing best practices will be necessary for a wider/easier adoption of the registry mechanism.
Q&A
sebastian: I was suprised not to see DID as examples
Ege: it does not follow the W3C registry guidline
Florian: Yes, DID have just a 'document' about the methods overview that exists. In the title they also used the word 'registry'
Florian: there can be different options to place registry, such as within a document Section or create a seperate docuemnts. Its a matter of flexibility
Atsushi: I'm the team contact of TT WG
Florian: write an issue at the Process CG repository for clarifying the best practice location
Ege: Are some plans to change about the registry checklist?
Florian: no changes are planed
Florian: if you want make changes, best way is to make change notes
… editorial changes are quire easy. non-editorial changes depends on the impact
Ege: if there no other question, we can close the session.
