TPAC planning

Well Known Destinations

Explainer

Lionel_Wolberger: Progress made on explainers?

matatk: Symbols this week, yes. No recent work on WKD explainers.

matatk: We talked about whether we should add linksets, and I think we made a decision but I don't recall it.

janina: There are common destinations that are useful for accessibility

Lionel_Wolberger: We should reflect consensus in the explainer.

janina: we want to implement easier access to these
… and have good candidates for a specification that would enable this functionality
… a mechanism that would be helpful both for people with disabilities and the broad population of world wide web users

Lionel_Wolberger: My desire is that our "front window" tell our story better
… The Adapt Task Force has been working dilligently on both symbols and WKD

https://github.com/w3c/adapt/tree/add-explainers/explainers

Lionel_Wolberger: Symbols, we have been bringing to a new level of maturity after its FPWD and feedback
… Well Known Destinations, we have a clear direction forward as indicated above

https://tag.w3.org/explainers/

matatk: Note that we must conform with the 'explainers' overview from the TAG, https://tag.w3.org/explainers/

matatk: ... main question on symbols is the character format
… main issue on WKD is the mechanism for discovery

matatk: For the 'front window' let's keep seperate the WAI micro-site, and the explainers

janina: This is a challenge across APA

Lionel_Wolberger: We agree to the following minimal edits
… The page url, https://www.w3.org/WAI/adapt/
… ACTION, delete the second bullet, Requirements for WAI-Adapt Specifications
… ACTION, add as a final bullet, under WAI-Adapt: Symbols Module, the anchor text WAI-Adapt: Symbols Registry, the URL https://www.w3.org/TR/aac-registry/
… ACTION: below heading WAI Adapt Documents, delete "Requirements for WAI-Adapt Specifications (Working Draft Note) includes user stories, specific use cases, and requirements for enabling adaptable content."

<Zakim> matatk, you wanted to discuss WKD

Well Known Destinations

Abhinav: Status of our reaching out for clarifications regarding linksets and other open issues from the AC meeting
… and the status of going on (should we choose to), to accessibility statements, metadata, and accessibility reporting

Explainer

Lionel_Wolberger: ACTION, under "Additional drafts provide information on potential future standards:" add a bullet, Well Known Destinations (anchor text for this URL, https://w3c.github.io/adapt/presentations/ac2024/)
… the bullet reads "Well Known Destinations: common destinations that are useful for accessibility as well as the broad population of WWW users.

<matatk> +1

Issue 240 Finalizations

Russell: Re; Anna Lu's IE status, I communicated with her about next step

Russell: Re: Lisa's question about a gendered name, the bliss symbol would be multiple symbols, "15691+14707"

matatk: We could replace the plus with a comma
… "15691, 14707"

matatk: +1

Russell: +1

matatk: This solves the problem.
