Meeting minutes

Media accessibility update.

substantive discussions. Media and Entertainment group raised concerns about the MAUR

Object based media - future is likely to contain media 'objects' that get put together to create content

haptics may, in future, be embedded in mpeg media files

The W3C use of video description may end up clashing with the terminology used outside of audio description.

Accessibility of interlinear text.

Janina will write up some use cases.

Plan is to start with a wiki page and assess whether a formal document is needed.

Accessibility of domain-specific notations.

jasonjgw: this could cover XML notation for maths, physics, diagrams etc

janina: to describe the music use case of what is needed that we wouldn't currently expect the browser to handle

Accessibility of the Web of Things.

Matthew will look at potential APIs for hand-off

jasonjgw: WoT are becoming interested in how to generate code from user's requests etc

jasonjgw: in scope for us is how to identify and configure devices

Miscellaneous topics from TPAC 2023.

janina: adapt has a spec for AAC symbols support and are proposing a registry for Bliss symbols. The Bliss symbols are also being added to Unicode so there is a further discussion and resolution required there.

janina: a larger requirement for well-known URIs covering a broader range of topics has emerged

Pronunciation still an open issue that generated debate
