Need to review the issue papers - later in Agenda with Becca

Rain had good feedback from proposal for structure - still some decisions to be made

Reviewing keypoints with WCAG and last review of CTAUR - comments from John and Shawn - need to get them into the document. APA has received the document to check what form they want it to take - so move from collecting comments to structuring the doc in the way APA prefer.

Lisa asked Jennie if she was happy with comments

Jennie said she may have difficulty making time for moving the comments over. Lisa will take on the task

Lisa has said she will make them a comment in the document before deciding where they should go and then they can be discussed

Next step will be to get the whole document to a form required by APA and Jennie said that sounded correct

Rashmi updated - working on issue paper - had feedback from John - the pages have been cleaned up and analysis

Rashmi asked if John and Lisa are available for 27th July but that date is a national day in Israel - so move call to the following week.

Lisa suggested now time to update the mental health sprints but not sure the analysis has been completed. Added to agenda for the next call.

Rashmi will send out a meeting invitation to Lisa for 25th July and also to John who may be able to attend

Rain discussed the structure subgroup progress. Will take more time to make sure the work can happen with extra meetings to complete the positions of where all the patterns should go. Will need to update the times as it has proved harder than expected. May take a couple more weeks

Lisa asked if it was appropriate to send message out to the rest of the list -

<Rain> Poll for structure subgroup 1 off meeting request: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Zzi9ZC5d2X_Kewh5rxUiy-n3C5HGfQz-V02XjNc8Ojw/edit#gid=0

Rain said that she will send out more requests for one off structure subgroup meetings

Lisa mentioned that Eric has been going through open issues that should be considered as comments as part of the structure subgroup.

Rain said that she will put any issues that need to be addressed on the next agenda

Jennie and the image subgroup may be affected by the structure

It was felt that it would not change anything from the images side.

Lisa asked for an update on the images and sprints

Jennie has added the sprints and at the moment they are in a period of transition because of holidays so now trying to find some firm meeting times during the present sprint.

Need to complete the rest of the work and then bring in additional designers

Lisa asked if there was a time to discuss if the group could share their decisions about designs

Jennie said that scheduling time has been difficult but this could possibly happen in the next month

Lisa then added Plain Language group that now has two roles

Rachel and Julie are on the call and the work of the testing group needs to be looked at for suggestions to WCAG 3 under Jennie's auspices

<Jennie> Here's the link for the testing subgroup folder, in case it is helpful: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1RUiKsY_WUaFJFvdR6ezFJ8Jx35JkHssy?usp=drive_link

<Rachael> w3c/wcag3#3

Rachel on the work of the Plain Language group started piloting the new process - error notification as per silver and Plain Language has updated WCAG 3 and migrating to new repository

<Rachael> w3c/wcag3#2 (comment)

Rachel has provided a document about error notification and providing training on the process on Aug 8th and 15th during normal AG meeting. Then starting new meetings using this process. Please email Rachel directly on it and then will be working on it all from Aug 22nd

Jennie late chater starts late Aug and asked if more work needs to be done

Rachel said that detailed instructions will be sent out to experts for AG and Coga

All the charter items will be coordinated through AG for all invited experts

Lisa mentioned that invited experts will need to refresh their status when this is all updated

Julie asked if people will be able to work on Github for the error notification process as the Plain language group are working in a slightly different way on the process

The Plain language group have also been working on draft to support WCAG 3

<Lisa_> next item

The international subgroup are meeting in the following group and needs to be integrated with WCAG 3 as well as the test subgroup

<Rachael> We are adding links to the work to the documents provided to the subgroups and we will provide links to the coga test cases for our testing subgroup which will start back up in September

<julierawe> https://docs.google.com/document/d/1m-vnccylky4-jWxWGuw3_JZCSajWK-5WQu1CKdeGdG4/edit

Julie on the Clear Language - link above - going through Content Usable and share where relevant sections link with WCAG 3 such motion and minimal time and interruptions and programmatically and visually ordered to get alignment

Rachel - thanked for the work and has added links to each of the guideline pages and will keep doing this as the Plain language group go through the guidelines that should be linked.

Lisa added link to Jennie's documents - testing section to each part of the guidelines so it has User needs, Patterns, Use cases/Personas and then an activity for identifying aspects that might need more example tests.

May need to check that there there are ones that link directly to Making Content usable.

<Jennie> *great question Julie!

Do we want to make the coga info for WCAG 3 sprint teams stick to just what is already in Making Content Usable or include new information such as suggested tests etc

Lisa suggested that any new or added suggestions must be noted that they have not been through the rigorous review stages

<Jennie> +1 to Julie's suggestion

Julie suggested that the sprint teams need the information about the personas and use cases etc now and then add the test information later

Julie also suggested that a 'point person' could be tagged when the test information has been completed.

Julie meant that Rachel could let the people know when the test information is available. Lisa will ask Rachel tomorrow

Julie wants to get sign off on what is currently available

The additional testing material will take at least a further week to compile

Jennie suggested that because the testing content is not really ready she suggested that going forward with what has already been created this should be shared and then share the testing information on an ad hoc basis with the AG subgroup

Julie then described how the subgroup went through all the information on the document and showed how items were linked from Making Content Usable

For example two patterns were very relevant to the motion controls and two relevant personas.

Lisa added 4.9.1 as a possible addition as a suggestion.

Julie then went on to mimimise impact of timing and interruptions

Lisa mentioned work coming up on the Adaptar working group

Note 'adapt group' not Adaptar.

Lisa asked If there are other suggestions can items be added as a comment

Julie felt this would be helpful

Julie then went on to timings and interruptions and she listed all the userand patterns

Lisa discussed how long people need to complete things

Julie will add this and also dicussed how there were several Personas that fitted this sections

Lisa added 4.7.4 - avoid navigating voice menus - more practical scenarios linked to timing when spoken to fast and can't process it

Lisa added implied issue with fast speech - need an alternative

Julie will make sure this is all noted.

Last guideline contents are programmatically and visually ordered with user needs about findability and five patterns and use cases/personas

There is a different sprint team working on finding information

Lisa asked if chunking media should be included - jumping to sections that are needed.

Lisa asked if 4.3.5 has been included

Julie asked if there is was an additional one...

Lisa wondered if making the purpose of a page and clear design is also relevant?

Julie will add all that section in.

Julie asked if the numbers of section should be included from Content Usable.

Lisa felt they were not needed

Lisa asked about controls and semantic language

Julie said they will be done in the future.

Lisa then went on to holiday times. Suggested last week of August and first week of September

<Lisa_> holiday last week augast and first week spetember

Becca wanted to say that she received no comments to the two issue papers and there are two questions at the bottom of the documents

Becca would like to receive comments now

Lisa suggested that everyone is give two extra weeks to comment

Becca still has some lingering questions on the conversational paper - way finding less complicated

Lisa will add to agenda
