Meeting minutes

I'm having difficulty joining; please proceed.

New Zoom meeting arrangements.

Some hiccups experienced today (the first time changing over to the new Zoom connection), mostly because interpreters may not have has access to the W3C site where the connection information was posted.

Roy: New functionality in this Zoom installation is a designated button on the Zoom toolbar to pull up the ASL interpreter screen.

New interpreters did not have access to agenda because they are not yet added to the RQTF listserv

Problem being experienced in that ASL interpreters are having trouble accessing the microphone when they are in the ASL channel

Roy: Host for meeting need to "open the sign language" and "manage the sign language" function to manage the interpreters

Roy: host has to assign the interpreters from the participants list

ACTION: item: need to find documentation on how to assign interpreters

<trackbot> Error finding 'item'. You can review and register nicknames at <https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/track/users>.

jasonjgw: We need to make sure we have the process down for next week

janina: We also need to make sure the agenda is available to interpreters next week.

Roy: Another new feature is the availability to have translated captions.

Question if these new features are merely new enhancements which W3C has aquired by paying more money, or if these updates are new across the Zoom universe

janina: Should note that we now have interlinear captions in multiple languages

ghurlhub: Janina to determine new Zoom licensing and versioning changes

Collaboration Tools Accessibility User Requirements.

scott_h: Literature review has been progressing...a few new things have been identified that are well referenced

scott_h: Optimistic that by next week will be able to begin integration into the document

jasonjgw: Suggest we publish in the next month or so

jasonjgw: We can put this back on the agenda next week

Structure and synchronization of media resources.

jasonjgw: This is heading for TPAC

janina: The opportunity is much better now

janina: There is a new media working group, and also a new EPUB version coming out

janina: We have several new opportunities to promote these concepts, and could perhaps even update the MAUR

<janina> MAUR 1.0: http://www.w3.org/TR/media-accessibility-reqs/

jasonjgw: Need to review the MAUR and get feedback from Raja

Universal Design for Learning Guidelines: request from WAI-Adapt Task Force.

jasonjgw: We are still waiting for the Task Force to provide guidance

janina: The accessibility for children group has been promoting some changes

Large language models and Natural language interface accessibility User Requirements.

jasonjgw: Probably need to bring this back next week

jasonjgw: One significant difference is what happens when interaction with the user is not scripted in advance

Miscellaneous updates and topics.

jasonjgw: Mention recently of another CAPTCHA alternative; a computational technique
