Meeting minutes

Previous minutes

<dape> -> Feb 27

Daniel: we reviewed two PRs
… and issues
… we discussed about biblio refs and versioning
… the summary is that we are going to use git tags and publish more often
… minutes look good
… any objections
… ok approved

Quick updates

Daniel: remember the Daylight saving time change

<dape> Kaz's message on DST change (Member-only)

Daniel: in the next two weeks we are going to accommodate our time slot to compensate with the different time changes in different countries
… please use the calendar invites
… does anyone have any problem with the new timing?

Cristiano: it's ok for me

Zoltan: good for me too

Daniel: I'll ask Cristiano to chair the next two calls

Kaz: the time change in Europe is just for two weeks

Daniel: correct

Daniel: I'd not cancel the calls because we need to finalize the note doc soon
… other comments?
… ok

Note pubblication

Daniel: we have two weeks for the pubblication
… keep it in mind

Next charter

<dape> Draft WoT WG Charter

Daniel: please review the current draft
… scripting is mentioned as other deliverable
… we didn't talk about if the Scripting API should become a Rec document
… we should bring this up again
… Kaz do you want to bring this up in the main call?

Kaz: we can ping the chairs beforehand

Daniel: it is better if you ping them
… since you also talked with Philippe

PRs

Daniel: let's pick first the easy one

PR 460

<dape> PR 460 - add wot-thing-description-types as dependency for scripting api

Daniel: there was a missing dependency in TS definitions
… the PR simply updates the package.json
… any objections?
… merged

PR 461

<dape> PR 461 - add undefined where missing in prose

Daniel: it is a PR from my side
… it tackles optional values
… in webIDL we have some constraints
… the PR is very simple in changes the prose
… to handle undefiend values
… but do we need this null initialization ?
… it seems that I cannot use undefined to replace null

Zoltan: are you sure?
… it seems the problem is not related to that change

Zoltan: actually we can use the error and change the default to {}

Cristiano: I agree

Daniel: shall I update the TS definitions too?

Zoltan: yes

Cristiano: +1

PR 462

<dape> PR 462 - Update README.md with versioning information

Cristiano: changed the Readme
… with guidelines for versioning

Daniel: usually we use snapshot for expiremental features
… but for releases we just remove snapshots

Kaz: I'm a bit confused. we should clarify which information should be included in which file, along with the notation on what major.minor.patch means.

Cristiano: release tag might be good for pintpoint explicity that we published the doc
… and I agree we should explain where to put the versioning info and explain major.minor.patch

Cristiano: how should we decide which version gonna be
… ?

Daniel: I think we can do at the publication time

Cristiano: +1

1+

Cristiano: isn't a little bit confusing to tag stuff with 0.8.1-snapshot and then suddenly change it to 0.9.0

Daniel: yes but we can't help to do it otherwise

Cristiano: ok I'll capture this in the readme for the next week

463

<dape> 463

<zkis> We should use https://webidl.spec.whatwg.org/#record-type

Cristiano: I spot a mistake, I think we are using the wrong key for internal slots
… in algs

<kaz> s|pull/463|pull/463 PR 463 - Fix internal slot in event handlers|

Zoltan: we should use record instead of Map

Zoltan: we should use name too

Daniel: do we need interaction variable?

Cristiano: probably not

Zoltan: yes I agree

Zoltan: on the other hand pair is fine
… actually more modern spec uses tuples

<zkis> Instead of pair, use tuple https://infra.spec.whatwg.org/#tuple

Cristiano: section 9.25 what should happen if there is no event subscription handler?

Zoltan: should there be a error ?

Cristiano: maybe

Kaz: we're out of time. so let's continue this discussion next week.

Daniel: ok closing the call
… keep in mind that there are some issues tagged with spec improvments
… that we need to tackle in the next weeks
