Meeting minutes
Mike Pennisi (Bocoup)
update on the generic AT Driver
jugglinmike: regarding macOS support, Z Goddard (Bocoup) is on the case. He'll be picking up where I left off trying to use the new API that Apple included in macOS 13
James: what do we need from Apple?
jugglinmike: confirmation that the official sample code is correct and instructions for how it can be operated
James: try contacting the developers of the e-speak project; they have ostensibly implemented a working system on top of this new API
ARIA-AT Automation repository README.md updates
github: w3c/
jugglinmike: I'm working to update the readme in order to support upcoming discussions with the Browser Testing and Tools Working Group
jugglinmike: in particular, I've added some text recognizing the standardization effort for the Accessibility Object Model (AOM)
open spec patches
github: https://
jugglinmike: 5 patches that I believe are uncontroversial but which require review before they can be merged
James: no need to block on review from PAC
renaming proposal
jugglinmike: "ARIA-AT Automation" to "AT Driver"
jugglinmike: "ARIA-AT Automation Driver" to "Generic AT Driver"
Cameron: "AT Driver" makes sense to me as a newcomer working in this space
James: Is the word "generic" too generic? Will others know what that means?
James: is this implementations externality the more relevant/helpful aspect to reflect in its name?
mzgoddard: We could name it based on the mechanism we use to integrate, but that may change in time
jugglinmike: Lets think about this for a couple weeks and revisit at our next meeting
