BCI Registry Specification
Lionel_Wolberger_: we driven FPWD on December 15
… https://
Scripting needed for the Bliss registry
<Lionel_Wolberger_> Roy: Note the BCI logo, and copyright information, as this is a joint publication
<Lionel_Wolberger_> ... W3C CTO requested that Webfonts Working Group review
<Lionel_Wolberger_> ... and add a process section. The process section would delineate how to maintain this registry
<Lionel_Wolberger_> janina: Only BCI would be adding symbols. They are the body that can add to this document
<Lionel_Wolberger_> ... we envision a scripting mechanism that would add these new symbols to the Registry
<Lionel_Wolberger_> Roy: That's what the process document should spell out
Janina: I gonna to draw a process section for registry doc
janina: The script would not operate nightly. On some kind of schedule, the script would read a BCI source and feed the result into a computer-writable version of the W3C document
Lionel_Wolberger_: Is BCI going back, and changing any of the already assigned numerical values?
matatk: I have seen them changing things in the past - to remove duplicates
janina: The possibility of a number/symbol mapping changing should be addressed in the registry spec.
Lionel: Keep in mind that TR is far enough away that there is time enough to close this issue
Janina: we need prepare the announcement for this publication
Adapt Symbols Module Status
Roy: short name: adapt-registry
Lionel: How is the Symbols registry referenced from the symbols module?
Janina: how about adapt-aac
Lionel_Wolberger_: I like to use adapt-
… it would point people to adapt
… aac-registry
Lionel: We like aac-registry as well
Lionel_Wolberger_: we can also hear suggestion from Michael
ACTION: matatk to update the references to the registry
<trackbot> Created ACTION-100 - Update the references to the registry [on Matthew Atkinson - due 2022-11-21].
matatk: one thing concern, we want to know if there is any way pass TAG or PLH
Janina: my action to get TAG review
Roy: only block for symbol going to CR is TAG review
Lionel_Wolberger_: the RFC reference, do we have enough of those in here?
… we have 2 basic performance paragraphs that we wrote for the whole content
… inside the section on description of symbol vacabulary
Lionel: Looking at the word MUST
… The numeric values utilized to map to symbols MUST be published BCI index values.
Janina: we need to rewrite and point to registry
Lionel_Wolberger_: Proposing:
ACTION: janina to update the RFC language and point to registry in section of conformance
<trackbot> Created ACTION-101 - Update the rfc language and point to registry in section of conformance [on Janina Sajka - due 2022-11-21].
Lionel_Wolberger_: The numeric values utilized to map to symbols MUST be taken from AAC-REGISTRY (or whatever short-name we get)
Close action-2
<trackbot> Closed action-2.
ACTION: janina to map to symbols MUST be taken from AAC-REGISTRY (or whatever short-name we get)
<trackbot> Created ACTION-102 - Map to symbols must be taken from aac-registry (or whatever short-name we get) [on Janina Sajka - due 2022-11-21].
Close action-101
<trackbot> Closed action-101.
janina: Matthew ping me, when you done your editing
Lionel_Wolberger_: we have an abstract may need be change
… as we will have a registry
… and saying to get it into HTML, that's a big thing
[Talk about BCI and Unicode]
matatk: DOM strings can be unicode, so the registry could host the unicode values (once, and if, they are approved)
Lionel_Wolberger_: drafting the editors
