<matatk> PR from MichaelC: https://github.com/w3c/adapt-registry/pull/1

michaelc: Previews above spec via Zoom share screen ...

michaelc: Explains Google Sheet exported to json; limited to certain fields

michaelc: json is downloadable

michaelc: Asks for reactions

russell: Notes labels are reversed ---

michaelc: Oops!

russell: How many symbols at this point?

michaelc: Don't print! About 200pp without images currently

michaelc: May want to gen different versions for printing

russell: Looks good

Subsetting

michaelc: Suggests starting with a subset of core symbols; for interoperability reasons

michaelc: i.e. overlap with multiple symbol sets

matthew: Nothing substantive, looks good; may have style suggestions for table

matthew: Notes punctuation is in there, we'll need to be clear that we're using BCI IDs as common interchange among symbol sets

matthew: But not necessarily the full lang capability of BCI

matthew: Wonders whether we need punct?

michaelc: Notes no objection to providing the entire BCI set as an extension, but believes a subset of overlaps most likely to succeed

michaelc: asks if there's a known way to identify the subset? Looks for reactions

russell: Other than creating a bit of work, I have no issue here

russell: Would be interested to hear Shirley describe how BCI evolved over time from a core

russell: Believe people who've also created subsets get them down to around 800

shirley: Could be one subset, certainly it's the one for beginners

shirley: Notes web site has data stats

michael: would be interesting to explore

shirley: teaching to communicate

shirley: suggests not ogden route, because thqat's speech support

shirley: this is communication

michaelc: Notes we'll need to check with COGA

janina: separate symbols for communication, vs for annotating

we´re focusing on annotating

janina: Notes we're not doing interpersonal communications; but decorating web content

michaelc: Suggests nouns and verbs as subsetting

shirley: notes different color use in Sweden; other langs also vary

shirley: suggest North American; we were first! :)

janina: Asks if we can get access to usage data; would help with decision

michaelc: as first call, we're not dispositive; but we have basis for more conversation

russell: Shirley and I can continue for now, we have another colleague for whom this time may be difficult

michael: OK, let's plan to pick up next week. We can always explore a different time, too
